Mayer, Alan M.D.
Dr. Mayer is a Board Certified Pediatric Gastroenterologist and specializes in treating children from birth to 18 years. He received his Doctor of Medicine from Cornell University Medical College in New York, NY, where he was a Biomedical Fellow of the Tri-institutional MD/PhD program. Dr. Mayer did his Pediatric residency at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and completed his Pediatric Gastroenterology fellowship at Children’s Hospital Boston and Harvard Medical School. Dr. Mayer is a nationally recognized researcher, having led a team that saved the life of a child using cutting-edge DNA technology. This achievement was featured in the Pulitzer Prize-winning Journal-Sentinel article, “One in a Billion.”
Dr. Mayer is a member of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation Association (CCFA), American Gastroenterology Association (AGA), North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition (NASPGHAN), and the American Association for the Advancement of Science
